Carindale teenager Jack Love has earned a place among the world’s top young archers, representing Australia at the Youth World Archery Championships in Winnipeg, Canada.
Early Steps in
His journey from a local beginner class at Carindale PCYC to the international stage has brought attention to the community’s role in developing sporting talent. Jack began archery three years ago through a beginner program at Carindale PCYC with Rogue Archery.
He later joined Aspire Archery in Murarrie, where he focused on high-performance development. Coaches credit his consistent practice, passion, and dedication for his rapid progress.

International Achievements
At the Youth Olympic Festival in Singapore, Jack won three gold medals across the ranking round, individual matchplay, and team events. He has set multiple state records and consistently improved his personal bests.
His coach emphasised the importance of combining technical skill with mental resilience to succeed at elite levels.

Performance at the World Championships
The Youth World Archery Championships took place from August 20 to 24, 2025. Jack competed in the Recurve Under-18 Men category, scoring 622 in the qualification round and finishing 54th out of 64 competitors.
He advanced to the elimination stage but was narrowly defeated by the top seed, placing him among the top 32 in his division. In the elimination round, he faced the top seed, Tianxin Zhang, and was narrowly defeated, finishing in the top 32 of his division.

Community Impact and Future Goals
Jack’s achievements highlight Carindale’s contribution to nurturing young athletes. His international experience provides inspiration for local youth interested in sports.
Coaches view this event as a step toward potential Olympic participation, including the Brisbane 2032 Games, and a demonstration of how community programs can support global success.
